Assisted Living Bootcamp: The Commons in Lincoln April 19, 2017

Are you a new administrator or manager in assisted living in Massachusetts (or want to be)? Do you supervise line staff? Are you charged with improving quality and regulatory compliance? Is this the first time you have had to prepare for a recertification review?

Mass-ALA is offering an intensive training session for new administrators and managers in assisted living interested in developing knowledge of regulatory issues and getting equipped with resources to lead a team through a state visit. Each training session will be limited to 30 people in order to allow sufficient time for questions and interactive discussion. You will receive a comprehensive training manual with Mass-ALA resources, including the Mass-ALA Quality Improvement Tool (4th edition), tips sheets and sample systems.

Core topics include: • Industry demographics, statistics and trends • Assisted living services, including the provision of skilled care, medication management and special care (dementia) • Staff roles, responsibilities and requirements for staff orientation, skills evaluation and ongoing training • Resident assessments, individualized service plans, introductory visits, incident reports and progress notes • Quality improvement requirements and systems • Overview of resident services documents • Overview of the regulatory agency and policy environment in Massachusetts • The assisted living statute (Chapter 19D), regulations and policies • Resources and tips to demystify an Ombudsman visit or recertification review

This Mass-ALA program is limited to 30 attendees and sells out quickly.
