Martha's Mass-ALA Membership Matters 8-29-16

By way of introduction my name is Martha Chamberlin and I am excited to be the new Manager of Membership and Foundation Affairs at Mass-ALA.  I have already had some wonderful experiences with many of our members and I am looking forward to many more of them.  In order to do this I need you to let me know what is going on at your community or business, here are three easy things that you can do for me to make this happen:

Do you have a newsletter?  If so I would love to start receiving it, that way I will know what is going on with our members and their wonderful residents.  My email is

Invite me for a visit!  One of my goals is to get out to as many of our member communities and business partners as possible so you can give me a tour of your residence or company.  You all do such wonderful things and I want to learn about you and your programs.  It will be a great opportunity for me to tell you about the benefits of being a Mass-ALA member plus answer any questions you might have for us.

Come meet me. On September 20th there will be a Member Networking reception at The Commons in Lincoln. I would love to have you join me so we can enjoy some light refreshments and get to know each other.  Sign up on our website to attend.  Please remember that it is open only to Mass-ALA members, if you are interested in becoming a member of Mass-ALA give me a call, I would love to talk to you about the benefits of membership.

Mass-ALA Member Survey

On August 17th we sent out a brief, and we promise it is brief, member survey that we hope you will complete for us.  For taking time out of what we know are very busy schedules we will be entering everyone who completes the survey in a drawing for either a $100 Visa Gift Card or a ticket to our Annual Excellence Awards Dinner being held on May 8, 2017.  MEMBERSHIP SURVEY LINK -  This link will be open until August 31, 2016

Member Happenings

A huge thank you goes out to Whitney Place at Natick for hosting the July 21st Assisted Living Boot Camp training.  Jessica Brigham, you and your staff were wonderful to work with, we appreciate everything you did for us.

I recently attended an awesome barbecue held at Cochituate State Park and sponsored by Wingate Healthcare residences; Boylston Place at Chestnut Hill, Wingate Residences of Needham and Wingate Residences at Weston.  It was the hottest day of the summer but that didn’t stop me or anyone else in attendance from enjoying a beautiful lakeside setting, eating some delicious food and meeting so many of the wonderful employees from these Wingate residences.

Do you have an upcoming event, workshop?  Please let me know I would truly enjoy attending and getting to know more about you our members.

And the same to our many business partners, if you have something happening at your company be sure to let me know so I can share it with all Mass-ALA members.

That’s all the member news for this month; if there is something you want us to know about please email it to me at  The deadline for submissions is September 14th.

Have a great rest of the summer and a wonderful Labor Day holiday.

Thanks for ALL you do!
